FROM A SUSTAINABLE IDEA TO SINGAPORE: THE VINOGLOW SUCCESSSTORYHow two young entrepreneurs from Moldova are developing a circular solution forthe cosmetics industry
VinoGlow, founded by Vitalina Popov and Ksenia Petrov, is developing a way to
transform waste from the wine industry into valuable resources for cosmetic products. By giving new value to local by-products, the initiative responds to an environmental challenge in the Republic of Moldova and applies circular economy principles to green entrepreneurship. The team joined the ClimateLaunchpad Moldova 2026 programme with its project, “Valorization of Winery Waste in Cosmetic Products.” Through training, coaching and mentoring, Vitalina and Ksenia worked on their business model, strengthened the sustainability dimension of their idea and refined their pitch.
Climate Engine’s Contribution
As part of Climate Engine, the ClimateLaunchpad Moldova programme offered the team
a structured setting to develop and present its climate-focused business idea. Training activities, coaching and mentoring supported Vitalina and Ksenia as they clarified their value proposition and prepared to communicate the potential of their solution.
A key milestone came at the ClimateLaunchpad Moldova 2026 National Final, held on
25 August at Mediacor, Moldova State University. VinoGlow won first place, recognised for the relevance of its proposed solution and its potential to make productive use of local resources while reducing waste from the wine industry.
Following the national final, the team presented VinoGlow at the Semi-Regional Final
alongside other climate-focused teams. Although it did not advance to the Regional Final, the experience gave Vitalina and Ksenia an opportunity to present their idea to a broader international audience and learn from other climate entrepreneurs.
Outcomes and Impact
From 12 to 15 October 2026, Vitalina Popov and Ksenia Petrov are in Singapore, taking
part in the international programme associated with the ClimateLaunchpad Global Grand Final. Their programme includes workshops, learning activities and networking with entrepreneurs, innovators, mentors and climate experts from around the world.
The experience offers the VinoGlow team new perspectives for developing its initiative
and opportunities to build connections within the international ClimateLaunchpad community.
VinoGlow’s journey shows how training, mentoring and determination can help young
entrepreneurs take a sustainability-focused idea from a national programme to an international setting. It also highlights the creativity and potential of young people in the Republic of Moldova to develop innovative responses to climate challenges and contribute to a more circular economy.
