EcoWine Workshop Brought Together Wine Enthusiast Faculty Members, Staff, andStudents at UCTM

Today, May 20, 2026, the inspiring event “EcoWine Workshop” took place at the Library and

Information Center of the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy – Sofia (UCTM).

The event was organized by the Laboratory for Climate Change and Technological

Innovations at UCTM in partnership with Terra Divine.

The workshop was dedicated to sustainable practices, innovations, and the future of

winemaking, bringing together participants interested in eco-friendly technologies and

modern approaches within Bulgaria’s wine industry.

The special guest lecturer of the workshop was Chief Assistant Professor Dr. Eng. Diyan

Tochev from the Department of Biotechnology at UCTM, who delivered a lecture entitled

“Fundamentals of Eco-Friendly Winemaking.”

During his presentation, he emphasized the importance of sustainable production practices,

responsible resource management, and the implementation of innovative technologies in

contemporary winemaking in Bulgaria.

A special highlight of the program was the tasting of selected wines by Terra Divine, which

contributed to the pleasant and inspiring atmosphere of the event.

“EcoWine Workshop” was organized as part of the activities under the Climate Engine

project and highlighted the importance of collaboration between science, business, and

education in building a more sustainable future.
