AstraCore AI: Turning Wildfire Early Warning into a Scalable Climate Venture

2 min read

Wildfires are already destroying forests, agricultural land and rural livelihoods, and

without prevention the losses will only grow. AstraCore AI is tackling this challenge with

an AI-powered wildfire risk and early-warning platform. By combining weather,

geospatial and forestry data with expert risk methodologies, it helps forestry authorities,

municipalities and emergency-response teams identify high-risk areas before a fire ever

starts.

AstraCore AI joined the EIT HEI Climate Engine programme at a pivotal moment.

Having built and validated its product, the team was preparing to move into scaling and

partnerships, a transition that calls for sharper financial and strategic thinking.

The programme delivered exactly that. On finance, the team gained a clearer

framework for financial planning, pricing and long-term sustainability, looking beyond

day-to-day decisions.

On strategy, the Climate Engine project helped them step back and see the

bigger picture: where the company is heading, how it positions itself, and how to align

product and growth plans with impact and sustainability.

“The Climate Engine program was very helpful for us, especially when it comes to

finance and strategy,” the AstraCore AI team shared.

“A lot of the insights were practical

and immediately useful for how we run the business. The timing was spot on.”

AstraCore AI’s progress has also been recognised more widely. The company was

selected as one of five finalists in the second edition of the HEIPowered Startup Pitch

Competition, chosen from 70 high-quality applications across the EIT Higher Education

Initiative community. The team will pitch in person to a panel of judges in a European

city, competing for a €15,000 top prize.

AstraCore AI’s journey shows what Climate Engine sets out to do: equip climate-tech

ventures with the structured thinking they need to turn a validated solution into a

scalable business that protects communities and ecosystems.
